Since 1978 North Carolina 811 has provided you a fast and easy communications link with your local utility providers. You give us information about your excavation, we transmit the information to the utilities and then they send out locators to mark your underground lines for FREE.

About Us

The Fibrant and Information Technologies department provides leadership, innovation, and guidance to all the City’s business units in the use of new technologies to enhance city services to citizens.


The Information Technology Services division (ITS) provides excellent enterprise level customer service and support as the centralized authority on technology solutions by managing current and future technology requirements.

ITS provides the correct resources to enable consistent data and communications access to every City employee, ensuring they can efficiently and seamlessly perform their duties for the citizens of the City of Salisbury.


The Network Operations Center (NOC) is responsible for providing technical phone support to all Fibrant customers. The goal is to provide the most responsive and efficient problem resolution to customers that is superior to all Fibrant competitors.

The NOC staff also provides remote configuration and troubleshooting support to the Fibrant field technicians for all new installations, service changes, and trouble calls. The NOC further monitors the overall Fibrant network and handles the logistics for dispatching the field technicians.


The Fibrant Sales division manages the sales efforts for Fibrant, a municipal broadband network that provides internet, phone and video services for residents and businesses in Salisbury.

Fibrant is the fastest city-wide broadband network in America, covering the entire city with a 100% fiber optic network.

The Technical Operations and Outside Plant division proudly maintains a state of the art optical fiber network for Fibrant and the City of Salisbury.

Fibrant plays host to MAGIC’s fifth Capture the Flag Cybersecurity competition

The Mid-Atlantic Gigabit Innovation Collaboratory (MAGIC), in partnership with Fibrant and various other localities from across the nation, will host its fifth Capture the Flag (CTF) competition, Saturday, April 21, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Fibrant CTF event will be held on the same date and time at Salisbury City Hall, 217 S. Main St.
