Salisbury to Host NC Main Street Conference in March

The City of Salisbury and Downtown Salisbury, Inc. will host the 2019 North Carolina Main Street’s annual three-day conference from Tuesday, March 12 to Thursday, March 14. The conference theme is centered on the foundation of a solid Main Street program integrating a combination of time, talent, and money arranged like a well-run production, that generates measurable downtown revitalization results.

Salisbury receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for FY 18

The City of Salisbury has been awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018. The award is considered the highest form of recognition in government budgeting and is the 27th consecutive year the city has received the award for its annual budget.

Council Retreat Open To Public

     Salisbury City Council will host its annual Goals Setting Retreat, Monday, Feb. 11, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 9 a.m. until the meeting is concluded, at Livingstone College - Department of Hospitality and Culinary Arts, 530 Jake Alexander Boulevard South. 

New Fair Housing Committee Seeks Volunteers

     City staff, in partnership with the newly-established Salisbury Fair Housing Committee and the Centralina Council of Governments (CCOG), will work together over the upcoming months to conduct a fair housing study as part of the city’s Analysis of Impediments (AI) update project, in compliance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
