The Salisbury Police Department and the Family Crisis Council of Rowan County will host a number of initiatives this month to bring greater awareness to domestic violence.
This month’s employee spotlight is Jennifer Silvia, human resources analyst II/ benefits administrator. In her role, Jennifer is responsible for handling people-related concerns and needs that arise within the city. She administers benefits and assists with the retirement process, in addition to being involved with recruitment, onboarding, compensation, training and development for city employees.
October is National Crime Prevention Month
The Salisbury Police Department recognizes October as National Crime Prevention Month and Domestic Violence Prevention Month by sharing a list of helpful tips to keep residents safe.
This year's BlockWork will be on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the 500 block of West Council Street. Volunteers can sign up for as many two-hour time slots as meets their personal schedule, and will receive a t-shirt, gloves, meals, snacks and drinks. The Salisbury Community Appearance Commission and Salisbury Housing Advocacy Commission are accepting volunteer applications through Monday, October 17.
The City of Salisbury employees are gearing up for the 2022 - 2023 Rowan County United Way Campaign. This year’s theme is “Whole Hearted Harmony.” Per the Rowan County United Way, “When community leaders embrace our diversity, leverage our combined resources, and partner with other Rowan residents, we extend and expand our ability to address the adversity that some citizens face.”
