The Osceola Council on Aging and the HUD North Carolina Field office will host a groundbreaking event at the former Ford City Motor Company on Thursday, September 7, at 9:30 am, in Salisbury, NC. The groundbreaking is to formally announce the Ford City Motor Lofts Senior Lofts Housing Project, available through a grant for affordable housing, to benefit low-income seniors in North Carolina.
The city’s new fiscal year brought name and staffing changes to three city departments. The Engineering Department became the Transportation Department, Community Planning Services split into the Planning and Neighborhoods Department and the Land and Development Services Department. In addition, the Public Works Department now has two umbrellas under which its service areas fall – Maintenance and Environmental.
