Join us for our annual Holiday tradition in Downtown Salisbury that takes place each year on Black Friday. All are invited to share holiday cheer and enjoy the holiday lights and decorations, caroling, hayrides, and much more while visiting and shopping in our unique shops, boutiques, and dining in our restaurants. The Social District will be in effect.
As cooks gear up for the holiday season, Salisbury-Rowan Utilities has tips for discarding leftover Fats, Oils, and Grease, also known as FOG. When FOG is poured or flushed down the drain it may not travel very far through your pipes. FOG will accumulate and stick to the pipe walls causing future sewer backups in your home, restaurant, or other buildings.
This month’s employee spotlight is Jay Basinger, a detective and crime scene investigator with the Salisbury Police Department. Jay is a sworn police officer who is always ready to step up and assist wherever needed. As a detective, he investigates a wide range of crime scenes with a focus on major crimes, including homicide, burglary, and sexual assault. Additionally, Jay is a member of the arson task force, where he collaborates with the fire marshal’s office to investigate fire-related incidents.
