Risk Management

Risk Management is responsible for the oversight and protection of all City assets through the purchase of insurance, contractual risk transfer, program and operational analysis, mitigation of insured losses, safety and loss prevention and related programs and policy development.

Risk Management oversees the pursuit of insurance recoveries for damages caused to City property and vehicles by third parties. Employee safety and compliance with federal and state mandated safety regulations are managed and monitored though development of standards and training required under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

Human Resources provides a centralized source of support and assistance by providing general personnel administration, recruitment and selection, training and development, health and wellness, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, and a city-wide customer service program. Human Resources is also responsible for providing risk management services for the municipality. These services include safety, liability insurance management, worker’s compensation, OSHA compliance, and third party claims against the City. Human Resources also implements goals and special projects as assigned by the City Manager and City Council.
