What is the CAC?

​The Community Appearance Commission (CAC) assists City Council in initiating, establishing, and enhancing programs, projects and policies that improve the overall physical appearance and quality of life in Salisbury.


Meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of every month at 4:00 p.m. at City Hall. The CAC does not meet in July.


Special Requirements: Efforts are made to maintain a majority of members who have had special training or experience in a design field, such as architecture, landscape design, horticulture, city planning or a closely related field.​


Incentive Grants

The CAC offers incentive grants to Salisbury businesses within the Municipal Service District and along Innes Street, as well as a grant to beautify Salisbury neighborhoods:

  • Landscape of the Month

    The Community Appearance Commission initiated the Landscape of the Month Program as a way of recognizing residential and commercial property owners that do an exceptional job of maintaining the appearance of their landscapes.

The City of Salisbury has 14 active, standing boards and commissions created and appointed by Salisbury City Council.

REQUIREMENTS


Board terms are staggered for two-year or three-year terms and most end on March 31. Applicants must be 18 and a Salisbury resident, with some exceptions.
