What is the Salisbury Citizen's Academy?
The City of Salisbury wants you! You are invited to an inside look at your city government as an member of the 2019 Salisbury Citizens Academy. Applications will be accepted May through Tuesday, July 31, 2020.
Have you ever wondered how clean water is delivered to your door, or how the Fire Department decides which trucks respond to certain calls? Join us in the Salisbury Citizens Academy to find out the answer to these and other questions about City government and operations.
The class meets weekly on Thursday evenings beginning in early September and ending with a graduation in November. One class may be held on a Saturday to allow for additional time.
Classes are free and open to anyone who is at least 16 years of age. Priority will be given to residents of Salisbury. Class size is limited to 12.
Classes are from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at various City facilities and locations. Dinner will be provided.
Participants will have an interactive, hands-on opportunity to see just what it takes for a city to operate. City staff will offer a behind-the-scenes look at fire, police, solid waste, parks and recreation, and more.
Thursday 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
