During Spruce Up Weeks, City of Salisbury residents can place items at the curb on their regular collection day before 7:00 a.m.

The City of Salisbury Public Works Department will pick up your old appliances, tires without rims (limit 5 tires or less per location) and extra bagged trash. This is a great time to encourage a neighborhood cleanup!

No building materials will be collected:

  • carpet
  • padding
  • sheetrock
  • windows
  • lumber
  • commodes
  • etc.

No electronics will be collected:

  • televisions
  • computer equipment
  • etc.

This collection is for residents living inside the city limits of Salisbury only. NO BUSINESSES.

Upcoming Spruce Up Weeks

Bulky Item Pickup

The standards for collection of roll outs, bulky items and yard waste are:

  • Items left outside of City issued rollouts will be considered bulky.
  • Bulky items can be scheduled for collection by calling (704) 638-5256 to schedule an appointment. Bulky collection must be paid for in advance. For your convenience, we accept VISA and Mastercard by phone.
  • The City of Salisbury provides Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter Spruce Up weeks for collection of bulky items.
  • Limits to yard waste collection – One truckload per week.
  • Bulky items will be collected on the same day as your regular collection services. They are collected by a different truck than your regular trash rollout.

Bulky Item Collection Fees:
Two bulky items ($5 for each additional bulk item - $10 minimum) $10
Each bag or box $2.50
Bulk Brush Removal Minimum Charge (applies to loads over a truck load) $75

Charges for specific cases will be calculated by Public Services Director or designee based on site visit.
All fees must be paid in advance of service.
