SPD searching for gold or silver SUV in fatal hit and run
 

Officers with the Salisbury Police Department are investigating a head on Hit and Run collision which resulted in a fatality. Officers responded to the area of W. Horah St near S. West Street late Friday night, April 17, at 11:37 p.m. Larry E. Barber, age 59 of Salisbury, was struck head on while riding his moped on W. Horah Street. The vehicle that struck Mr. Barber never stopped, according to witnesses. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a gold or silver SUV, with heavy front end damage and missing the driver side mirror. Mr. Barber succumbed to his injuries at 00:06 at Novant Health.  Anyone with any information regarding the crash is asked to please contact the Salisbury Police Department.
