Lt. Beam named PIO for Salisbury Police

Lt. Greg Beam has been named the new public information officer (PIO) for the Salisbury Police Department, following the retirement of Capt. Shelia Lingle. Beam, who has been with the Salisbury Police Department since June 1991, is a 1986 graduate of North Rowan High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in criminal justice from N.C. State University. 

 

His previous positions with the police department include the patrol division, the traffic unit and the burglary squad. He also completed stints as a training sergeant, district commander and patrol watch commander. In additional to his duties as PIO, he will continue to serve in his current role as commander of criminal investigations. 

 

Beam holds an Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate issued by the N.C. Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
