The Telecommunications division manages, coordinates and monitors the City's telecommunications system in the areas of radio, 9-1-1 cable and emergency service communications. This service includes both City departments and Rowan County. This division also specifies, recommends and implements solutions to the City's communication needs.
What we do:
- Maintain and manage the Salisbury-Rowan Public Safety 911-800 MHz Radio Network
- Maintain the Radio system at 1 prime site, 1 master site and 3 remote RF sites around the County
- Maintain 4 conventional VHF paging sites for Rowan Fire and EMS
- Maintain our 5 Conventional Mutual Aid sites
- Maintain the Rowan 911 center radio consoles
- Program and maintain approximately 2500 radios for City and County
- Provide technical help for Salisbury-Rowan utilities for SCADA issues
- On call 24/7, 365 days a year for system issues
