City of Salisbury hosts third in series of “Community Conversations”

Salisbury, N.C. (Tuesday, November 8, 2016) – The City of Salisbury will host the third in the series of neighborhood community discussions designed to engage residents in sharing their ideas and concerns about their neighborhoods, as well as provide information about city services. The next “Community Conversation” will be held Monday, Nov. 14, at Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, 223 E. Fisher St., 7 to 9 p.m.

Salisbury Police are actively working two separate homicides that occurred overnight

On Sunday a 1:22am Salisbury Police were called to the Firewater Restaurant and Lounge at 122 Avalon Dr reference a shooting. When officers arrived they were notified that someone had been shot in the parking lot and had been taken to Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center by private vehicle. The victim, identified as Sharod Raheen Mathis age 22, died of his injuries. Salisbury Police Criminal Investigators and the State Bureau of Investigations are working the case.

Salisbury HAC to debut proposed housing ordinance to curb crime and violence in rental properties Monday, Dec. 12

Salisbury, N.C., (Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016) -- The Salisbury Housing Advocacy Commission will host a public forum on a proposed ordinance, titled the Remedial Action Program (RAP), to hold landlords accountable for recurring crime and disorder activity on or in their properties, Monday, Dec. 12, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at One Water St.
