As cooks gear up for the holiday season, Salisbury-Rowan Utilities has a few tips for discarding leftover Fats, Oils, Grease, also known as FOG. When fat, oil, grease and wax is poured or flushed down the drain it may not travel very far through your pipes. FOG will accumulate and stick to the pipe walls causing future sewer backups in your home, condominium, restaurant, or other buildings.
Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU), the water and wastewater provider for the City of Salisbury and other Rowan County municipalities, has been honored for exceeding federal and state drinking water standards for the second year in a row.
