City of Salisbury to Host Water Wednesday Community Event
In connection with Rowan County Creek Week, the City of Salisbury Public Works Department will host Water Wednesday on Wednesday, October 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Salisbury Community Park located at 935 Hurley School Road.
With support from Rowan County Soil and Water and the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, participants will enjoy fishing with free loaner gear, free snacks, fun activities, and learning opportunities for all ages. City Sustainability Coordinator Allie Elstermann says “Water Wednesday is a fun, family-friendly event where children can learn to fish and explore the fascinating life in our waterways”.
Creek Week is a week-long celebration of local waters throughout North Carolina. The Seventh Annual Rowan Creek Week will be held October 11-18, 2025, featuring recreational, educational, and volunteer opportunities that allow residents to enjoy and contribute to healthy waters in the area.
