What is the Salisbury Citizen's Academy?
The City of Salisbury wants you! You are invited to an inside look at your City government as a member of the Fall 2026 Salisbury Citizen's Academy. Applications will be accepted through Friday, August 7.
Have you ever wondered how clean water is delivered to your door, or how the Fire Department decides which trucks respond to certain calls? Join us in the Salisbury Citizen's Academy to find out the answer to these and other questions about City government and operations.
Class Details
Each week, participants will meet at various city facilities for interactive, hands-on experiences with city staff. Whether it’s exploring how the city budget is developed with the Finance Department, using a thermal imaging camera at the Fire Department, or participating in activities with Parks and Recreation, participants will gain insight into the work that keeps Salisbury running.
The Citizens Academy is open to the public, but class size is limited to 20 participants. Applicants must be at least 16 years old, and priority will be given to Salisbury residents. Dinner will be provided at each session.
Applications will be accepted online starting Monday, July 27, through Friday, August 7, by contacting Tracey Keyes at tracey.keyes@salisburync.gov or (704) 638-5313.
