Track Your Water Use

Salisbury-Rowan Utilities recently completed its Smart Meter Program, which replaced or upgraded your water meter.

While your updated meter enables our staff to operate our system more effectively, it also provides you with a new tool that lets you track your water use. You now have more control over your bills than ever before.

The tool - called EyeOnWater - is a FREE, secure service. Because it shows your water use, you must register at EyeOnWater.com to use the tool. Once you sign up, you can begin watching your use as often as you'd like to see if you want or need to conserve water.

How To Sign Up

Because EyeOnWater is a secure system containing usage data, SRU customers sign up to take advantage of the new tool.

The great news is that signing up for EyeOnWater is not only easy, it's also FREE!

To sign up, follow these steps:

  1. Go to www.eyeonwater.com
  2. Select "Create Account"
  3. Enter your zip code and your account number (located on your water bill - the last seven digits ONLY)
  4. Enter your information, choose a password and then hit next
  5. Confirm the verification email
  6. Then you can sign in and access your water usage data

It's that easy! Sign up today!

Catch Leaks Early

EyeOnWater is specifically designed to help both SRU and you, our customer, discover leaks long before they result in high bills or thousands of gallons of wasted water.

EyeOnWater enables you to review your usage down to the week, day or even hour. You can then take this information and set up your very own "Leak Alert."

"Leak Alerts" set a "limit" for your water usage, based on your hourly flow. The alert will notify you by email or text within hours of when your usage hits the "limit" you set.

You can now catch leaks within 24 hours, not in expensive or wasteful days or weeks. And that saves water for all of us.

Save Money

The best part of EyeOnWater might just be how it gives SRU customers the chance to save money on every bill.

EyeOnWater not only shows you how much water you are using but exactly when you are using it. Its clear, easy-to-read charts and graphs enable you to review your flow by the

hour, day, week, or month, and quickly compare it with your past use.

You can easily see if you're singing too much in the shower or if your irrigation system is soaking your lawn for too long.

You can begin saving money on your water bill today! Sign up for EyeOnWater!

EyeOnWater Tips

We have a few tips to help you set up your EyeOnWater alerts so you will get the greatest benefit in the shortest length of time.

The first thing you will notice is how we are now measuring your water use in gallons, not cubic feet. This will make it easier to understand your water use. Note: One cubic foot of water use equals approximately the use of seven-and-a-half gallons.

  • Review your water use for the last 30 days. Find your daily high.
  • Review your water use for the previous 4 days. Find your hourly high.
  • Use the 30-day and 96-hour highs as your guides for setting your "Leak Alert".
  • Decide how often you want to receive alerts. You might need to adjust your alert during the first month.

Salisbury-Rowan Utilities' "Smart Meter" Program installed advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) to collect multiple reads a day from our customers' meters.

The meters allow for better leak detection, increased billing accuracy, and improved customer service, including our ability to offer EyeOnWater.
