The City Clerk's Office provides services that connect citizens to their government and maintains a recorded history of government actions. These services include City Council assistance, records management and research, boards and commissions, Citizen's Academy and customer service to both internal and external customers.
The City Clerk's office maintains and preserves the permanent and legal records of the City, which includes all
minutes and agendas of
Council meetings, ordinances, resolutions, contracts and all other documents required by law. All records are maintained in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Records Retention and Disposition Schedule maintained by the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources, Division of Archives and History. The City Clerk also coordinates and maintains appointments to the City’s
Boards and Commissions.
