City of Salisbury hosts second in series of “Community Conversations”

-- City residents to share concerns with staff, learn about services Tuesday, March 22--

Salisbury, N.C. (Monday, March 14, 2016) – The City of Salisbury will host the second in the series of neighborhood community discussions designed to engage residents in sharing their ideas and concerns about their neighborhoods, as well as provide information about city services. The next “Community Conversation” will be held Tuesday, March 22, at Father’s House of Glory, 2218 Statesville Blvd., 7 to 9 p.m.

“Our first Community Conversation was a great success in terms of resident attendance, and the resulting communication between our citizens and city staff,” said Salisbury City Manager W. Lane Bailey. “Now that we have scheduled our second Conversation at Father’s House of Glory, we are even more certain that this forum is a path forward to building a better, stronger Salisbury community. It is imperative that we continue to engage with our residents and that they continue to engage with the city.”

“The Father’s House of Glory is excited to be the host church for the neighborhood community conversation with the city,” said Bishop Russell L. Smyre Sr., Father’s House of Glory. “This is an awesome forum for heartfelt discussion to intersect with proactive solutions that lead to creating thriving and successful communities. We have to know our purpose, cast vision and work together to bring it to pass.”

Department leaders from areas such as transit, police, public services, human resources and utilities will be in attendance. Members of the Salisbury City Council will also attend.

The third Community Conversation will be held in early summer in a different neighborhood within the city.
