The Salisbury Police Department is offering two engaging, hands-on summer camps created for youth in the Salisbury-Rowan Community.
Crime Scene Camp
This half-day camp provides a behind-the-scenes look at how investigators process crime scenes. Participants will learn the basics of crime scene investigation through hands-on activities and demonstrations.
Dates: June 25 or July 23 (choose one)
Time: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Ages: 11 to 15
Capacity: Limited to 25 participants per session (first come, first served)

Youth Citizen’s Academy
This four-day academy introduces youths to various aspects of policing and the justice system, with a focus on civic responsibility. Students will explore topics like traffic stops, hostage negotiation, and the legal process through real-world observations and conversations with officers from different specialties.
Session 1: June 23–27
Session 2: July 28–August 1
Time: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Capacity: 25 participants per session (first come, first served)
Requirement: Must be entering the ninth grade through the senior year of high school and live in Rowan County.

Both camps are free and offer an opportunity for local youth to explore careers in law enforcement, build leadership skills, and engage with their community.
