With spring in full bloom, lawns and other grassy areas are actively growing. Below are a few tips to keep grass healthy and green:
• Mow grass and weeds before they get to 10 inches tall
• Blow grass clippings back onto the yard. Grass clippings and other yard debris can clog storm drains
• When watering grass, water in the morning or late evening to reduce water loss to evaporation during the middle of the day
• Plant native plants or native pollinating plants to promote bees and the best opportunities for their plants to bloom
• Have your soil tested to see what fertilizers are needed for optimum plant growth
