Cheerwine and the City of Salisbury to Cancel 2020 Cheerwine Festival

After careful consideration and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, as well as state and federal agencies, Cheerwine and the City of Salisbury, N.C., have decided to cancel this year's Cheerwine Festival, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 16. A virtual festival will happen instead, further details to be announced later.

Effective today, Tuesday, April 7, and will remain in effect until further notice the City of Salisbury Parks & Recreation Department will CLOSE the tennis courts. Salisbury Parks and Recreation Closes Playgrounds

In order to minimize exposure to COVID-19, the City of Salisbury Parks and Recreation has decided to close all City-operated playground equipment, effective immediately until further notice.

Salisbury Mayor Declares State of Emergency

Mayor Karen Alexander declared a state of emergency for the City of Salisbury related to the COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus), following a similar declaration by Rowan County. The declaration authorizes the City to apply for financial assistance related to preparation, response and recovery of COVID-19 if needed through state or federal agencies.
