The award-winning communications department serves as a central source of information by providing a singular voice and facilitating creative communication solutions for the City of Salisbury. In addition, this team strives to provide professional, timely and accurate public information, marketing and communications services to the citizens and visitors of Salisbury.

Department responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the distribution of internal communications to city employees
  • Managing and coordinating City of Salisbury websites
  • Public relations management
  • Social media communications
  • Television services including TV stations and video production
  • Marketing communications such as print or billboard ads

On Monday, Oct. 11, the Salisbury Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of City Park, near the intersection of W. Miller St. and Club House Dr. at 5:28 p.m. Officers located a total of 28 spent firearm shell casing at the crime scene. While officers were on the scene, Antwaun Reynard Miller, age 30, of Salisbury arrived at Rowan Regional Medical Center suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Officers have connected Miller’s injuries to the incident at City Park. Officers also located a vehicle that left the scene with bullet holes and other evidence inside that is believed to have been involved. No suspects have been identified at this time.

Long St. The Resource Fair will include: blessing bags, medical & housing resources, barber services, veteran resources, mental health resources and a free lunch provided by Jeannie's kitchen.

During loose-leaf collection season (mid-October to mid-March), residents are asked to have all loose leaves raked to the curb by Monday morning of your collection week to be ensured they are collected by Friday. The Salisbury Police Department is able to confirm that a rifle seized by the Rowan County Sheriff’s office is the same rifle that was used in the homicide on December 4, 2016 involving 7 year-old A’Yanna Allen. This discovery was made due to the close working relationship between the Salisbury Police Department and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. Further information will be released when available.

WSRG-TV is a local government access TV station that provides free PSAs and City and Rowan County information through cable providers Spectrum (Channel 16) and Hotwire (Channel 394).
