The City Council is the governing body of the City of Salisbury. The Council is comprised of five members who are elected on a non-partisan basis for two-year terms. Each Council member serves at-large and represents the entire City.

Fall Spruce Up Week 2021

During Spruce Up Weeks, City of Salisbury residents can place items at the curb on their regular collection day before 7:00 a.m.

The City of Salisbury Public Works Department will pick up your old appliances, tires without rims (limit 5 tires or less per location) and extra bagged trash. This is a great time to encourage a neighborhood cleanup!

Homeless Resource Fair 2021

Rowan Helping Ministries and the City of Salisbury will be holding a Homeless Resource Fair on Saturday, October 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 226 N. Long St. The Resource Fair will include: blessing bags, medical & housing resources, barber services, veteran resources, mental health resources and a free lunch provided by Jeannie's kitchen.

Shooting – City Park – W Miller St. and Club House Dr.

On Monday, Oct. 11, the Salisbury Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of City Park, near the intersection of W. Miller St. and Club House Dr. at 5:28 p.m. Officers located a total of 28 spent firearm shell casing at the crime scene. While officers were on the scene, Antwaun Reynard Miller, age 30, of Salisbury arrived at Rowan Regional Medical Center suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Officers have connected Miller’s injuries to the incident at City Park. Officers also located a vehicle that left the scene with bullet holes and other evidence inside that is believed to have been involved. No suspects have been identified at this time.

Salisbury residents, business owners and visitors are encouraged to vote for Downtown Salisbury in the quarterfinals at https://www.mainstreetcontest.com/nominees before Sunday, Nov. 7.
