This week’s Mayor’s Hot Take was recorded at the Salisbury-Rowan Utilities Administrative Building.
In this episode, Mayor Tamara Sheffield kicks things off by recognizing Traffic Engineer Victoria Trexler for earning her professional engineer license. The episode also highlights Fiscal Year 2026-2027 budget discussions, including how residents can ask questions and stay involved in the process. Additional updates include employee health care costs, recycling changes, Community Development Block Grant funding and major Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU) projects. SRU projects include continued investment in infrastructure and plans to relocate the raw water intake and pump station to support long-term system reliability. A proposed 4 percent rate increase, about $2.72 per month, was also discussed.
