Misty Fields is an accounting technician II for the City of Salisbury Finance Department. In her role, she monitors and prepares accounts payable (AP) to make sure vendors get paid accurately and in a timely manner. Misty also prepares employee payroll, submits monthly retirement information, and assists employees with questions regarding pay, deductions and benefits.
“In my job with the City, I get to work with every department on a daily basis. We work together to make sure our vendors are paid on time, and employees are paid correctly for the hard work they are doing. Doing both AP and payroll has certainly had it’s challenging times. However, I do love a challenge and new opportunities. Feeling a sense of accomplishment when I am up against a deadline or we are short staffed and everyone has to work together to make sure we reach our deadline, that is what I love about my job. We have a fantastic Finance team that I am thankful to be a part of.”
