Input needed for Parks and Recreation Master Plan

Input needed for Parks and Recreation Master Plan
Residents are encouraged to provide feedback on their wishes for the future of Salisbury’s parks and recreation programming and facilities during a Master Plan Open House, Wednesday, Oct. 24, at One Water Street. The Open House will be a “drop-in” format from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

LandDesign, a national planning services firm, and The Kelly Group, a park planning consultant, have been contracted to update the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, a strategic planning guide focused on the future of recreation in Salisbury. The document examines:

• Existing community resources
• Parks, recreation and open space criteria
• Community needs concerning parks, recreation and greenways
• Action steps for implementation
“Our open house is a chance for our citizens to give their input on future recreation programming and facility needs,” said Nick Aceves, Salisbury parks and recreation director. “We look forward to engaging with the public over the next several months as we work with LandDesign and The Kelly Group on planning our department’s future.”
