Be The Difference Be A Recreation Programmer

Employee Spotlight: George Black

Be The Difference Be A Recreation Programmer

This month’s employee spotlight is George Black, a recreation programmer with the Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department. In his role, George evaluates, plans, and coordinates various recreational activities to ensure that programs are scheduled and run smoothly. He has planned programs like the softball day tournament and the kickball league, and is currently working on bringing an adult co-ed volleyball program to Hall Gym.

When asked about his role, George says, “It’s never a dull moment. No day is the same. You meet people every day, and that’s what I enjoy about it. Whether it’s someone looking to participate in a recreational activity, learn more about what’s happening, or collaborate with city staff, it’s always rewarding.”
