Salisbury City Council to consider Connect NC Bond resolution
Salisbury, N.C. (Friday, March 11, 2016) – Salisbury Mayor Karen K. Alexander and the Salisbury City Council will consider adopting a resolution in support of the Connect NC Bond referendum at the next City Council meeting on Tuesday, March 15. Mayor and Council will take formal action on the resolution at that time.
If passed, the Connect NC Bond Act of 2016 referendum would invest $2 billion in long-term projects in counties across the state, including $7 million for the Rowan- Cabarrus Community College Campus. North Carolina voters will decide upon the bond referendum during the Tuesday, March 15 primary.
“While we have not yet formally voted as a Council on this resolution, our Councilmembers fully support the bond referendum,” said Mayor Alexander. “We anticipate that a successful vote on this funding package will lead to an increase in workforce development programs at our local community college following recent employee layoffs at area businesses.”
