City of Salisbury provides its operation schedule for the 2024 holiday season

The City of Salisbury will operate on the following schedule for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays:

  • City office buildings, including the parks and recreation centers and Salisbury Customer Service Center, will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24 through Thursday, Dec. 26, and on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025.
  • The city’s public works department will not collect garbage and recycling on Wednesday, Dec. 25. Garbage collection will be on a one-day delay due to the holiday. The department will not offer limb or leaf collection on Tuesday, Dec. 24 through Thursday, Dec. 26, and on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025.
  • Salisbury Transit will operate 6:00 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24. All rides are free on December 24. Transit will not offer services on Wednesday, Dec. 25. Regular Transit service will resume on Thursday, Dec. 26. Transit will run a regular schedule on Tuesday, December 31 and will not offer service on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. Transit will return to a regular schedule on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
  • Salisbury-Rowan Utilities’ administrative offices will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24 through Thursday, Dec. 26, and on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. If you have a water/sewer emergency after hours or during the holiday, please call (704) 638-5339. Customers can access the 24-hour online bill pay service by visiting, salisburync.gov/customerservice.
  • The Salisbury Community Park will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 25, and will otherwise maintain regular hours of 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. All Parks and Recreation centers will be closed Saturday, Dec. 28.
  • The police and fire departments will remain available for emergency services, as usual, during the holiday.
