Getting Ready Fur Fun

Salisbury will welcome its first ever dog park soon. The Dog PAWS Dog Park is a collaborative effort between The Dog PAWS Task Force and Parks and Recreation. The park includes one acre of land and will be located behind the Salisbury Civic Center. To prevent any “ruff” play, the park will be divided between small and large dogs, so fur parents and their furry friends will feel safe.

Before the park can be opened there is some work to be done including, 980 feet of new fence, water stations, and beautification to the park, adding shrubbery and trees.

Stephen Brown, landscape architect, said the park is making tremendous progress. So far the fence has been taken down at the tennis courts, and grading is being completed. Once the grading is completed the next step is to run a water line. The Dog PAWS Task Force aims to have the park’s grand opening in early October.
