The City of Salisbury announces a series of street closures on Wednesday, Nov. 26, to accommodate the annual ‘Tis the Season Spectacular Parade and the Spectacular in the Park celebration in downtown Salisbury. Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan for temporary traffic impacts throughout the day.
The ‘Tis the Season Holiday Parade begins at 3 p.m., followed by the Tree Lighting at Bell Tower Green at 5:45 p.m.
The following closures will be in effect:
- 6 a.m.: Roads surrounding Bell Tower Green — Fisher, Jackson and Church streets — will close. The left turn lane from Innes Street onto Church Street will be coned off.
- 12 p.m.: North Main Street will close between Lafayette Street and Kerr Street. Cemetery Street will close between Church Street and Lee Street.
- 1:30 p.m.: North and South Main Street will close between Kerr Street and the intersection of Fulton and South Main streets.
- Innes Street will close between Long Street and Fulton Street.
- Kerr, Liberty, Council, Fisher, Bank, Horah, Monroe, Thomas, McCubbins, Chestnut and Harrison streets will close between Lee Street and Church Street.
- Military Avenue and additional surrounding roads will close to prevent access to the parade route.
Parking Notice
No parking will be allowed on North or South Main Street after 1:30 p.m. Vehicles remaining after 1:30 p.m. may be towed.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and follow posted detour signs. Pedestrians are welcome to enjoy the parade festivities, which celebrate the holiday season with vibrant floats, marching bands, and community cheer.
