The City of Salisbury Transit Department is seeking public comments on upcoming service changes. Starting in January 2026, the current transit Route 3 or Blue Route will be serviced with on-demand microtransit. The Salisbury microtransit pilot project will function as a rideshare service where passengers can request a same day pick-up.
Microtransit service will be available within the designated route Monday through Friday between the hours of 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. This new service is expected to help riders meet their everyday transportation needs, including trips to the doctor, grocery store and other key destinations, while providing additional convenience. The new microtransit service is supported by the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s (NCDOT) Integrated Mobility Division through a statewide Mobility for Everyone, Everywhere in North Carolina (MEE NC) initiative.
The public is invited to comment on the service changes and new microtransit pilot program from Nov. 25, 2025, to Dec., 29, 2025. Public comments can be submitted by phone (704) 638-4460; email RideSalisbury@salisburync.gov; or mail to Salisbury Transit, PO Box 479, Salisbury, NC 28145-0479.
