This month’s employee spotlight is Jake Sterling, Internal Services Manager for the City of Salisbury Public Works Department. For more than 25 years, Jake has worked for the City in various roles ranging from a mechanic, second shift supervisor, fleet supervisor and fleet manager. Jake, as the internal service manager, is responsible for managing the fleet, telecommunications and facilities divisions.
"The favorite part of my job is problem solving because I have always enjoyed finding answers to problems that are said to be unsolvable. My team doesn’t leave anything on the table – we will find a way to figure out an answer to any problem. By looking at something from a completely different viewpoint or being encouraged to try something new or a different way, you allow you and your team the chance to find some pretty creative answers."
