The Salisbury Human Relations Commission (HRC) will host its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Weekend Saturday, Jan. 17 through Monday, Jan. 19.
The 2026 theme, “Mission Possible Continues: Uniting Our Community,” will be incorporated into weekend activities, including:
- Saturday, Jan. 17 – MLK Parade will take place at 11:00 a.m. beginning at the Salisbury Sports Complex, traveling on Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue to the Salisbury Civic Center, 315 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue.
- Saturday, Jan. 17 – Community Resource Fair and Celebration is 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Salisbury Civic Center, 315 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue.
- Monday, Jan. 19 – MLK Celebration Breakfast.
The parade will journey across Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, to the Salisbury Civic Center. There, the Community Resource Fair will bring local agencies specializing in health, education and family support to one place. In addition to fun and free food, health screenings, information on senior services and multiple City and County agencies will be on hand. Backpacks with a selection of school supplies will be available while supplies last. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The weekend activities conclude with Monday’s breakfast.
