Larissa Harper, downtown business specialist in Wilson, N.C., has been named the new Downtown Salisbury, Inc. (DSI) downtown development director, effective Monday, Oct. 9.

 The Dixonville-Lincoln Memorial Task Force and the Salisbury parks and recreation department will host a bench and greenway renaming dedication in memory of former Task Force member William C. Peoples, Friday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m., at the Dixonville Cemetery, 110 Old Concord Road.

Salisbury Finance Director Teresa Harris has announced her retirement, effective Friday, Dec. 29.

The City of Salisbury will operate on the following schedule for the Labor Day holiday, Monday, Sept. 4.
