All grounds in Chestnut Hill, City Memorial Park, Oakwood and Union Hill/Oakdale Cemeteries will be given an annual cleanup in preparation for our mowing season.
Employee Spotlight: R. J. Hill
This month’s employee spotlight is R.J. Hill, a detective for the Salisbury Police Department.
The City Council meets every first and third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. Council meetings are open to the public.
The Hurley Park Advisory Committee assists in the development of Hurley Park and seeks sponsors for Hurley Park in accordance with the master plan. The Committee also reviews and recommends developmental ideas presented to the Committee by the staff of the City of Salisbury or any other interested parties.
City departments kicked off the upcoming budget year, Wednesday, Jan. 30, in preparation for the next fiscal year. Fiscal Year 2025 (FY2025) is the city’s budget year that will run from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. The adopted budget ordinance will set the new tax rate and city fees.
The Technical Review Committee (TRC) is slated to meet (on an as needed basis) the third Thursday of each month at 9:00 a.m. via Zoom when there are items for an agenda.

Within the recent City of Salisbury’s Tree Canopy Assessment Report, 45% of Salisbury’s land area is covered with canopy. This report also looks at neighborhood canopy coverage, beneficial cost of tree canopies, and an overview of future planting areas within Salisbury.
