Employee Spotlight: Israel Vazquez, Maintenance Worker III

Employee Spotlight: Israel Vazquez, Maintenance Worker III

Israel Vazquez was employed in parks and recreation in 2011, before transitioning to public works. As part of the parks and recreation team, he assisted with maintenance of parks and special projects such as building the roof on the baseball dugout at Salisbury Community Park.
In his current role as a maintenance worker III, Israel operates equipment to perform waste collection, makes daily checks on equipment to ensure its safe operation and responds to questions from residents.
“My job is to keep our streets clean. As I drive, I’m often greeted by people waving or talk with them to provide great customer service. When you get a “thank you” it’s the best feeling in the world and makes you appreciative of the work that you do. I’m happy to be a part of a great working team in public works and to have the ability to help people on a daily basis.”
