Transit Offers Free Bus Rides Election Day, Veteran’s Day

Salisbury Transit is pleased to announce that rides will be free on all fixed routes for Election Day, Tuesday November 7th.

Free rides will be offered from the beginning to the end of the service day on all buses, Salisbury Transit wants to help you get to your polling place. You do not need to show a pass in order to ride.

Friday, Nov 10th the City of Salisbury will be observing Veterans Day and there will be NO bus service.

In thanks to our Veterans, our Veterans will ride the bus FREE on Saturday, November 11th. Please note, this will also include Weekend Express Saturday night. Bus operators will accept any of these common forms of proof of military service: military ID card (active/reserve/retired); VA ID card; current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES); driver’s license with veterans designation; photograph in uniform; wearing uniform (if service permits); veterans organization card (e.g., VFW); or DD214 (discharge paperwork).

Salisbury Transit are proud to provide the communities we serve vital connections and access to opportunity by offering complimentary rides on Election Day and to our Veterans, we are highlighting the important role public transportation can play in helping people engage in the process and have their voices heard by following the examples set by Veterans who responded to the needs of the country they served.
