Following the Rowan District Attorney Brandy Cook’s decision regarding the officer involved shooting on November 9, 2017 to not seek any charges against the officers involved, Chief Jerry Stokes has released the following statement: “We appreciate the Rowan County District Attorney’s diligent review of this tragic incident. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the deceased, his family, and the victims in this case. Now that the D.A.’s decision has been rendered on the valiant actions of our officers, we can complete the final, internal review of the incident. All officers have been returned to duty, and will continue to provide excellent service to our great City.”
