Join us on Saturday, March 1, for the 4th biennual We Dig Salisbury event hosted by the Community Appearance Commission and Salisbury Tree Board. This event will take place in front of the Miller Recreation Center at 1402 West Bank Street from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This is an opportunity for Salisbury residents to help expand our city’s tree canopy while learning about the many benefits of planting and caring for trees. At the event, there will be demonstrations on tree planting and pruning techniques as well as educational booths to share information about nature and conservation efforts. Attendees can also enter raffles for a chance to win exciting prizes.
The highlight of the event is a free tree giveaway. Salisbury residents can take home a 3-5 gallon redbud or Cherokee Princess dogwood tree to plant in their yards, contributing to the city’s effort to grow its tree canopy. With over 300 trees available, they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so arriving early is encouraged.
