As a Summer Camp Counselor in the City of Salisbury, you can make a difference! The Parks & Recreation Department is seeking motivated candidates who will guide and ensure the safety of children ages 5-12, as they engage in summer camp activities. This position will assist with planning activities, camper supervision, and creating a safe fun environment. Special training and orientation will be provided to ensure participant’s needs are met during camp. Other responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to answering telephone calls; greeting parents and visitors; conducting inventory of equipment, supplies, and games; registering customers for camp; collecting money for registration, and providing transportation by city vehicle for camp activities. Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED and minimal experience in recreation program planning, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Must have a valid NC Driver’s License

• Excellent customer service skills required

• Availability to work daytime and evening hours.

Closing Date: April 30, 2024

Hiring range: $14.64/ per hour

$500.00 sign-on bonus to be paid as a lump sum after completion of a successful probationary period
