Residents are invited to apply to the City’s 14 active, standing boards and commissions created and appointed by Salisbury City Council. Boards and commissions are made up of volunteer positions to help guide Salisbury’s present and future.
Board terms are staggered for three-year terms, and some end on Monday, March 31. Applicants must be 18 and a Salisbury resident, with some exceptions. Online applications are accepted on a continual basis and kept on file for consideration in the event a vacancy occurs.
“If you have never served on an advisory board or committee, may I suggest that you highly consider doing so!” says Amy Smith, board member for the Park and Recreation Advisory Board. “It is definitely a win-win situation knowing that you’re a voice for our community; and because of this and with the guidance of our local, elected officials, you are helping to create a better place that we are all proud to call home—the City of Salisbury.”
