Salisbury, N.C. (Thursday, March 17, 2016) – In an effort to more easily share crime and other law enforcement-related information with Salisbury citizens, the Salisbury Police Department has now activated the database-like website -- Police to Citizen (P2C). The web address is p2c.salisburync.gov.
P2C is a tool used throughout U.S. law enforcement agencies, which allows citizens to go online to view daily bulletins, search for specific incidents and recent arrest reports. Residents will be able to review answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), view safety tips, as well as search a list of Salisbury’s Most Wanted. Non-emergency reports also can be submitted through the website such as acts of vandalism, communicating threats and lost property .
“The Salisbury Police Department has been proactively researching ways to increase engagement with our citizens and develop a stronger trust relationship between law enforcement and the people in which we serve,” said Captain Shelia Lingle, Salisbury Police Department. “Since its inception, P2C has proven to be a great tool for other agencies. We anticipate that it also will be a great tool for us in providing and receiving information. While P2C is just one of our newest initiatives, the Salisbury Police Department believes this particular communication method will lead to a greater partnership with our community members.”
