Salisbury Fire Chief Bob Parnell is pleased to announce the promotion of Shawn McBride to Battalion Chief. McBride began his career with the Salisbury Fire Department as a firefighter in 2006. During his career at the Salisbury Fire Department, McBride has served and advanced through the ranks of Fire Engineer, Lieutenant and most recently Captain. He will be assigned as the Shift Commander of “C” Shift beginning January 1, 2018.
McBride is from Sumter, S.C. and is a graduate of Sumter High School. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Catawba College, where he was a member of the football team and a standout linebacker. He holds state certifications as a Fire Officer III and Fire & Rescue Instructor II. In 2017 he completed N.C. Chief Officers Execute Development Program.
Battalion Chief McBride currently resides in Salisbury with his wife Allison and children Lily, Tristen, Brooklyn, Parker and Jordan.
