On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, the Salisbury Police Department was made aware of an infant that was taken to Novant Hospital for a possible over dose exposure. The Salisbury Police Department Criminal Division responded and was able to determine that the infant was exposed to high levels of Fentanyl while in the care of its parents.
Detectives completed their investigation and obtained Felony Child Abuse warrants on the parents of the infant. On January 3, 2024, the Police Department arrested the father, Phillip Wayne Ketchie (31 yrs old) and the mother, Felisha Nicole Robinson for the outstanding warrants. Mr. Ketchie and Miss Robinson were placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.
