The Salisbury Police Department and Rowan County District Attorney’s office continues to ensure justice is served with the recent sentencing of Tracy Maurice Pruitt.
“The collaborative efforts of Salisbury Police and the Rowan County District Attorney’s office to hold people accountable for violent crimes is making a difference in our community,” said Police Chief Jerry Stokes. “As we continue to make strides in bringing those people to justice, we need assistance from our residents who are an important piece of the crime reduction efforts in the community. We ask everyone who sees something, to say something. You never know what little bit of information is an important piece to the puzzle. It was the cooperation of our community members that made it easier for the District Attorney to get the defendant in this case a long prison sentence.”
On Wednesday, July 15, Pruitt pleaded guilty to second degree murder of Michael Duren Faulk in Rowan County Superior Court. Faulk was murdered on May 28, 2018. Pruitt received a sentence of not less than 200 months and not more than 252 months in prison.
