In 2016, Alyssa Nelson joined the City of Salisbury as an urban design planner. In her role, she works on long range community design projects to improve the quality of life and vibrancy of Salisbury, including the BlockWork program, Dixonville-Lincoln Memorial Project and Salisbury Sculpture Show.
She manages design projects within the community planning department and serves as a staff liaison to multiple committees, neighborhood groups and local nonprofits. Alyssa has also been selected to attend Next City’s Vanguard Conference, an experiential urban leadership gathering of rising urban leaders working to improve cities.
“There are so many things I love about my job. I love that I work and am a part of an awesome Team of great people, a resident of Salisbury’s welcoming community, and that I’m able to promote positive, more inclusive and equitable change in Salisbury. There’s nothing that fills my heart more than helping build community in Salisbury and promoting citizens to care and support one another.”
