Salisbury-Rowan Utility (SRU) customers who are having financial difficulty can now apply for the City’s Share2Care Water and Sewer Assistance program to assist with their utility bill. Customers also are able to donate to the fund which will be administered by Rowan Helping Ministries.
Recognizing that public water and sewer services are critical to lessen the spread of COVID-19, state and local elected officials issued orders to suspend water utility disconnections. Now that the suspensions have been lifted, some SRU customers throughout Rowan County continue to be impacted financially due to the pandemic. Share2Care was created to help people whose financial circumstances limit their ability to obtain or maintain their water or sewer service. Rowan Helping Ministries, a non-profit agency in Salisbury, has agreed to distribute the funds generated through this voluntary program. Applications should be made directly to Rowan Helping Ministries.
Those who wish to donate to Share2Care can mail in a donation using the donation slip below or stop by the Customer Service Center at 1415 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.
