Salisbury Police responded to two robberies this morning along Statesville Blvd. The first robbery occurred at 9:34 a.m. at the Carolina Farm Bureau Credit Union, 2810 Statesville Blvd., where a male subject entered the building and snatched a purse from an employee. A second employee chased the suspect, recovered the purse, and noted the suspect’s vehicle description.
A short time later, a robbery was reported at Marlow’s Bar-B-Q & Seafood, 2030 Statesville Blvd., where a male suspect robbed the cashier of an undisclosed sum of money. The suspect fled on foot from the scene.
At 10:30 a.m., a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office deputy located the suspect’s vehicle in the parking lot of Stop and Go in the 500 block of West Cemetery St., and observed a subject matching the suspect’s description. The suspect fled from the deputy and was arrested after a brief chase.
The suspect, Christopher Donelle Pharr, 3/10/1985, is currently in custody. Charges are pending.
The Salisbury Police were assisted by Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit and Patrol Deputies investigating the incidents.
